Along the Gulf of Naples, at the shadow of Vesuvius, during the Roman era, Emperors demanded beautiful villas to be built for them, their wives, mistresses, daughters and slaves. Where once there was the town of Oplonti, known today as Torre Annunziata, have been found ruins of one of those villas, the magnificent Villa di Poppea, who was Emperor Nero’second wife. Since 1997, the villa has been included in Unesco list of world heritage sites. Althoug less known than other sites, the villa, along with the sites of Pompei and Ercolano, is considered an expression of the life of people leaving during that time. A Capera-guide will lead you toward the thermae, where Poppea used to take care of her body, and will reavel all her beauty secrets and her youth elisir.
