Starting from Castel dell’Ovo, the oldest standing fortification in the city located on the Gulf of Naples, a guide will tell the story of the birth of the ancient Naples. Castel dell’Ovo has served to defend the city, as a prison and as a royal residence throughout its long history. A walk thorugh myths and legends, will lead us to Piazza del Plebiscito, one of the most elegant spots in Naples. Overlooking the piazza are two impressive buildings: at one end stands the majestic San Francesco di Paola, one of Naples’ largest churches. Across the square is the Royal Palace, one of the most interesting monuments. The tour ends with a tasty aperitif near the San Carlo, the oldest musical monument in Europe.
